Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša meets Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves |

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Janez Janša, today met in Ljubljana the President of the Republic of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who is currently paying a working visit to Slovenia. PM Janez Janša and Mr Ilves assessed the relations between the two countries as excellent and without any unresolved issues.

They agreed that within the European Union, Slovenia and Estonia had a number of related interests and positions. They also emphasised the importance of mutual exchange of good experience and practices, which could provide assistance to both countries in adopting measures in various areas.

In exchanging their views on topical international issues, PM Janez Janša and Mr Ilves devoted special attention to the situation in Georgia. They agreed that in facing the situation in its neighbourhood, the European Union should maintain its active role and act unanimously. According to PM Janez Janša and Mr Ilves, one of the great challenges faced by the European Union was the issue of energy security.
