Both Prime Ministers devoted special attention to the situation in Georgia, which will take centre stage at the meeting of the Heads of State or Government of the European Union Member States at the extraordinary meeting of the European Council, scheduled for the beginning of next week. They also touched on bilateral relations between Slovenia and the Czech Republic and assessed them as being very good, since the volume of trade exceeded 1 billion euros last year, a figure which testifies to growing economic cooperation.

The Czech Prime Minister informed the Slovenian Prime Minister of the priorities of the Czech Presidency. They also exchanged views on the key challenges ahead of the European Union in 2009.
