Prime Minister Janez Janša to attend Bled Strategic Forum
On Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Janez Janša, will attend the opening of the international conference with the working title “Energy and Climate Change: Si.nergy for the Future”, where he will also deliver the opening address. The conference, to be held on 31 August and 1 September 2008, is being organised by the Bled Strategic Forum.
The conference will address soaring oil and gas prices, public concern over our dependence on imports of energy resources and the mounting evidence of global warming. The goal of the conference will be to tackle these issues by focusing on the strategic challenge of interdependence between climate change and energy security. The conference will bring together high-level government representatives, politicians, EU officials, private sector leaders, analysts and senior representatives of non-governmental organisations to examine possible synergy between energy security and care for the environment.
