Yesterday’s storms again caused considerable damage in some Slovenian municipalities. The Government of the Republic of Slovenia will discuss the damage reports this week and include the storm-stricken municipalities in the assistance system set up at its session last week. For this purpose, the Government will make available – out of the budgetary reserve funds set up at the last session and based on sources transferred from the budgetary surplus – additional funds to be allocated to residents affected by the storms via the municipalities, humanitarian organisations and relevant ministries, after the damage has been assessed.

 

The response of Prime Minister Janez Janša and representatives of the Government to recent storms has been swift and adequate; this was also confirmed by the President of the Republic, Danilo Türk, on the occasion of yesterday’s opening of the 46th International Fair of Agriculture and Food in Gornja Radgona.
