The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and current President of the European Council, Mr Janez Janša, had a meeting today with the Bureau of the EPP-ED Group – the Group of the European People’s Party and European Democrats in the European Parliament. The EPP-ED Group is currently attending a two-day working meeting in Slovenia devoted to in-depth debate on the most important issues on the European and world political agenda.

Before more than 60 Members of the European Parliament, the Prime Minister presented the work and effort Slovenia had put into its EU Council Presidency and outlined the principal tasks still on the agenda until the end of June. In this regard, he emphasised the importance of good cooperation between the Presidency and the European Parliament. The EPP-ED Bureau meeting, which concludes tomorrow, is also being attended by several Slovenian Ministers who are participating in discussions on a number of specific dossiers.
