Prime Minister Janez Janša offers his condolences on the death of the former President of the Republic |

On the death of the former President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Janez Drnovšek, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Janez Janša, has sent letters of condolence to the daughter, the son and the sister of the deceased Dr Drnovšek, in which he has expressed his heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and on his own behalf.
In his letters, the Prime Minister Janez Janša has written that Slovenia owes a debt of gratitude to Dr Janez Drnovšek as a long-time Slovenian Prime Minister and subsequently President of the Republic, for its social and economic development. “We pay particular tribute to Dr Drnovšek’s contribution to Slovenia’s integration into Euro-Atlantic groupings. Dr Drnovšek will be remembered as a statesman and as a man who, despite battling to beat the deadly disease, maintained optimism and had the strength to actively promote solidarity with the needy and the helpless, both at home and abroad,” has written the Prime Minister.
At the already convened correspondence session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia will adopt all the necessary decisions in connection with the final farewell to the former President of the Republic.
