The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, at the gala ceremony on the conclusion of her visit to Krško: "There are many reasons for celebration today in Krško"
During her visit to Krško, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, later this afternoon also attended a gala ceremony on the occasion of the municipal holiday which was held at the local cultural centre and which also included the granting of special municipal awards. In her address, the Prime Minister stressed that there were many reasons for celebration in the Municipality of Krško and in the Posavje Region as a whole: "This is a great day for the people of Krško and of the Posavje Region: in addition to the municipal holiday, on this day they are celebrating the opening of a new section of the bypass road and the inauguration of the Krško Hydroelectric Power Plant. All these events carry a message to the local residents that they live in a region which is making rapid steps towards faster growth in the areas of infrastructure, energy production, employment and mobility."
In addition to the aforementioned new acquisitions for the city and the region, the Prime Minister also highlighted the new residential area Polšca and the final stage of land consolidation and agricultural land reclamation, which will significantly contribute to a better use of agricultural land in the area. In her speech, the Prime Minister also said that the new developments deserved admiration since "in these times of uncertainty, you have succeeded in carrying on large investments, which is precisely what is most needed at the moment. And if I add to this the beautifully renovated Rajhenburg Castle, which I visited a short while ago, I can say that your municipality is one of the most creative in Slovenia."
At the close of her speech, the Prime Minister congratulated all municipal award recipients and expressed her wish that they should continue with their efforts and that many would follow in their steps, as their work represented a significant contribution to a faster development of the city and the region as a whole and hence also to the improvement of the people’s living standard.
