PM Bratušek addresses members of the Slovenian Armed Forces participating in international operations and missions abroad
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, and the Minister of Defence, Roman Jakič, addressed via videoconference members of the Slovenian Armed Forces participating in international operations and missions abroad. The Prime Minister thanked the members of Slovenian troops for their contribution to international peace and security, and for the promotion of Slovenia's reputation in the international community.
"I wish to tell you, even though you know it quite well, that you perform responsible tasks on behalf of the Republic of Slovenia, which is something that our citizens, too, are well aware of. This is reflected in a very high level of reputation that Slovenian Armed Forces enjoy at home and abroad. So far, the words I've had about your work from my foreign counterparts were nothing but praise, and I am especially glad to hear that wherever you may be, you would always be nicely received by the local population," said the Prime Minister. On this occasion, she thanked all SAF members for their efforts in eliminating the effects of catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and conveyed to them special thanks by the authorities of these countries which she recently visited. "Without your help, the situation would have been much more difficult", concluded by saying the Prime Minister.
At the close of her address, Prime Minister Bratušek congratulated all SAF members on the Slovenian Statehood Day.
