Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek receives French President François Hollande
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today received the President of the French Republic, François Hollande. Prime Minister Bratušek first thanked her guest for the visit and highlighted the importance of excellent relations between the two countries, which have a lot of opportunities to strengthen their cooperation in many areas.
Prime Minister Bratušek and President Hollande devoted special attention to the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries, as France is one of Slovenia's key economic partners. During the talks, Ms Bratušek presented the plan of the Slovenian Government for the privatisation of state-owned companies and emphasised that the key guidelines in the sale will be to ensure the transparency of procedure and to find strategic partners. She also described the efforts of the Slovenian Government to tackle the financial and economic crisis in Slovenia. Prime Minister Bratušek and President Hollande agreed that in the drafting and adoption of measures particular consideration should be given to the maintenance of a solidarity and welfare state.
After the talks, Prime Minister Bratušek invited President Hollande and his delegation to a short walk through the old city centre of the Slovenian capital as a gesture of hospitality and good relations.
