The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today attended a session of the National Council, where she was invited by its members to present the activities of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. Within the framework of her presentation, she emphasised that the Government, ever since its appointment, has been preparing measures to be presented in full at the beginning of May. She pointed out that the Government is preparing two important documents, i.e. a Stability Programme and a National Development Programme which will include specific measures that will also be evaluated in financial terms.

In her address, touching upon the Government's priorities, she called attention to the rehabilitation of the banking system in a manner that would support and encourage the healthy segments of the economy, fiscal consolidation, privatisation of companies and the rule of law.  She added that she looks forward to the closest possible cooperation with all stakeholders, since only a dialogue can yield a solution that will re-establish Slovenia as a success story.

Later on, the Prime Minister answered questions of the National Council members, and among other things made it clear that as regards privatisation, the Government will not agree to speculative purchases and therefore special attention and care is paid to this area. In conclusion, she expressed her belief that by strengthening the economy we will create new jobs and provide resources for efficient and quality public services that we all strive for.
