Following the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, will attend the session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia on Tuesday, 2 April 2013, when the deputies will vote on the ratification of Croatia's EU accession treaty.

On 11 March 2013, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Croatia signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which they agreed that the settlement for the transferred foreign currency savings of the Ljubljanska banka in Croatia will be found on the basis of the Agreement on Succession Issues (Annex C). This memorandum represents a solution that is acceptable to both sides and served as a basis for the start of the ratification procedure of Croatia's accession treaty in the Slovenian parliament.

Slovenia welcomes the most recent European Commission's Progress Report on Croatia that opens the door for Croatia to enter the European Union. Membership of the EU offers new opportunities to Croatia, the Western Balkans and all the EU Member States. The visit of the Croatian Prime Minister confirms good relations between Slovenia and Croatia that will further strengthen after Croatia joins the EU on 1 July 2013.
