Prime Minister Pahor meets representatives of employers' organisations

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today met with representatives from employers' organisations in the government building, where they discussed the development model and structural reforms. The representatives informed Mr Pahor of the problems related to the previous development model and drew attention to the current situation in Slovenian companies, which has deteriorated due to a drastic decrease in orders and a lack of financial means.

The participants also exchanged positions and views regarding the adopted anti-crisis measures and submitted a number of proposals for their improvement. They particularly highlighted the guarantee scheme and the importance of competitiveness in the labour market.

Prime Minister Pahor thanked the representatives of the employers' organisations for attending the meeting, which he considered to be informal in nature, and promised that the Government will actively participate in the social dialogue between employers and trade unions. Mr Pahor concluded that the fundamental issues presented by the representatives at today's meeting and the proposal, which they will submit as soon as possible, will be presented in the social dialogue with the aim of achieving social consent, to help Slovenia find a way out of this crisis more rapidly.
