Prime Minister Pahor said that "the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has been kept informed of all the preparations in the country and the European Union concerning the new type of influenza.  At the moment it seems that no major shocks are to be expected and that we will be able to curb and stop the disease." Mr Pahor continued by pointing out that Slovenia was ready to cope with an eventual increase in the number of persons who contract the virus, and that he "as Prime Minister had full trust in the national health system, in the Ministry of Health, in the Institute of Public Health and in other institutions which have put significant effort into the preparations." In addition, he highlighted the responsible conduct of citizens in observing all the guidelines recommended by the health profession.
