Prime Minister Pahor: Slovene politics unanimous on settling the border issue with Croatia by mediation

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, yesterday afternoon met the presidents of the parliamentary parties and the two deputies of the national communities. The discussion focused mainly on current external relations issues. "Slovene politics is unanimous. In principle, the European Commission's proposal for mediation is acceptable to us," said Mr Pahor, before expressing his hope that the Croatian side would adopt the same decision next week. According to Prime Minister Pahor, this would make it possible for the competent bodies to start discussing elements of the mediation. The ultimate goal of the mediation, for Slovenia, is a proposal for settling the land and sea border between the two countries.
