At a press conference following the meeting, Prime Minister Pahor said that he was coming to Macedonia as the Prime Minister of the Slovenian Government, which views Macedonia as its friend and ally. Mr Pahor underlined that "Slovenia’s position as regards its sincere support to Macedonia continuing the process of accession to the European Union and Nato has remained unchanged." Prime Minister Pahor added that Slovenia was interested in investing in Macedonia and gave his assurances that the development assistance provided by Slovenia to date would remain at about the same level.

Prime Minister Gruevski said that Macedonia had excellent relations with Slovenia in both economic and political fields. He thanked Slovenia for its support and assistance in the process of visa liberalisation, since Slovenia was one of the main advocates of abolishment of the visa regime for Macedonian citizens travelling to EU Member States. Prime Minister Pahor later reiterated the readiness of Slovenia for mediation in the dispute between Macedonia and Greece over the constitutional name of the Macedonian state.
