Commissioner Hammarberg commended the work of the Slovenian Government in resolving the issue of the "Erased" and, within this framework, the respect for the relevant decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia. Prime Minister Pahor said that "a draft law is being prepared to eliminate the remaining discrepancies of the Act Regulating the Legal Status of Citizens of Former Yugoslavia Living in the Republic of Slovenia by way of the Constitution." Mr Pahor and Mr Hammarberg also touched upon the issue of the Roma people and agreed that a long-term strategy is required in this area, particularly with regard to education, training and employment.
