In this statement, Mr Pahor said that he would use the opportunity of today's Eastern Partnership summit to hold consultations with several heads of state of EU Member States regarding Slovenia's position towards the most recent proposal from Commissioner Olli Rehn. He emphasised that Slovenia had supported the settlement process from the very beginning. "At the next meeting of the presidents of the parliamentary parties, I will suggest that Slovenia adopts those amendments to the proposal, which it considers essential and which were agreed upon in principle at our last meeting," said Prime Minister Pahor.

Mr Pahor also reiterated the importance of the decision to allow Slovenia enough time to carry out additional consultations between the parliamentary parties, as this is the only way to arrive at a prudent decision.
