The PM and his guest focused mainly on collaboration between Slovenia and France. Both countries will preside over the Council of the EU in 2008, when an intensive debate is expected on reforming the Common Agricultural Policy, which has proved a vital instrument in responding to recent trends in the food market,. Slovenia and France share similar views on the future challenges awaiting EU's agricultural policy in terms of the market situation.
