Prime Minister Janez Janša meets the EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator

Today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, met the EU Counter-terrorism Coordinator, Gilles de Kerchove, to discuss the Coordinator's plans for and Slovenia's EU Presidency in the first half of 2008. The PM and his guest confirmed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation during this period.

The PM and the Coordinator also agreed that bridging cultural differences was vital to countering radicalisation and extremism. In this respect, Slovenia's contribution during the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (2008) will also be important.
